Who controls your data
EirPlate is the controller for customer, enquiry and website data described here. You can make a privacy request through the contact page. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Data we collect
- Order and fulfilment data: name, email, phone if provided, delivery address, delivery notes, sign configuration, price, order status and tracking code.
- Payment records: Stripe session identifiers and payment status. Full card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by EirPlate.
- Enquiries and feedback: the message, category, optional contact email, page context and correspondence about resolution.
- Account and security data: owner account details, sessions, IP address and user agent where the administration service records them.
- Usage and campaign data: only with the relevant consent, events such as starting a design, beginning checkout and completing a purchase, along with device or campaign information supplied by analytics and advertising tags.
Why we use it and our legal bases
- Contract: to take payment, make, deliver and support your order.
- Legal obligation: to keep records required for tax, accounting, consumer protection and dispute handling.
- Legitimate interests: to secure the service, prevent fraud, answer non-contractual enquiries and improve operations where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent: for optional analytics or advertising storage. You can change this choice through Cookie settings.
Who receives data
We use service providers to run the shop: Neon for database hosting, Vercel for application hosting and operational analytics, Stripe for payments, Resend for transactional email, and delivery carriers such as An Post for shipping. They receive only the data needed for their role and process it under their own obligations or our instructions, as applicable.
International transfers
Some providers may process data outside Ireland or the European Economic Area. Where required, transfers rely on an adequacy decision, approved contractual safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism.
How long we keep data
Order and transaction records are retained for the period needed to fulfil the contract and meet Irish tax, accounting and legal requirements. Enquiries and feedback are kept only while useful for handling and documenting the issue, then deleted or anonymised. Security logs and optional analytics data follow the shorter retention settings of the relevant provider.
We may retain limited information for longer where needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Your rights
Subject to legal conditions, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to processing. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
You also have the right to complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Security and automated decisions
We use access controls, encrypted connections, managed payment processing and other proportionate safeguards. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
EirPlate does not use customer data for solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Cookies and changes
Read the cookie policy for storage categories and controls. We may update this policy when the service or law changes; the date above shows the current version.
